These screws can be used when fixing into a side wall that may be made from wood or chipboard. It is not advised that you fix our shelving into back walls that are less than 1” thick. However if you are fixing the ends of the shelving onto an available side wall that happens to be made of wood or chipboard as well as along the back wall, then you may need to use ½” screws unless your panels are thicker.
